I was referred to Simon as I was looking for professional input to help me to get stronger and faster on the bike not to race, but to ride longer distances confidently.
We talked about how joining Velo Performance could improve the structure of my training, help me with my nutrition and keep me accountable on both. I also liked the idea of being part of a club that would motivate and inspire me.
The training plans are detailed so you understand exactly what you need to do. I like the way they are planned where you can choose either in or outdoors depending on the weather and my time commitments.
Simon promised that if I follow the training programme I would become stronger and faster. That’s a big promise. Over the six months with Simon at Velo Performance so far, I am pleased to say that I'm faster. My average times over a local loop are coming down which is a great boost. The member's Facebook group is well run, not spammy, has a good blend of cycling talk, education, helpful videos and posts on training and accountability check-ins. The practical nutritional advice on how to become leaner, stay energised and get healthier is first-rate. I love the fact that Simon is down To earth and recognises that nobody wants to live on lettuce leaves.
Being part of the VPCC club training challenges and getting inspired by Simon to set bigger goals has made a huge difference to my riding and what I believe is possible when you eat and train better.
